Step 1: Understanding CrossFit
CrossFit is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and other elite and professional athletes worldwide. Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind. Our terrorist hunters, skiers, mountain bike riders and housewives have found their best fitness from the same regimen.

Step 2: Try It!
All new, unexperienced CrossFit athletes will be required to start in the CrossFit Lite classes. If you are unsure about whether CF Lite is right for you or to request to bypass the CF Lite classes, please email us at email@example.com.
CrossFit Lite is for all newcomers and anyone looking to get a great workout without as much volume as the regular CrossFit class. CrossFit Lite is designed to prepare the inexperienced and/or deconditioned individual for traditional CrossFit Classes. The focus will be in depth instruction on all of the functional movements used in our CrossFit classes. Each class will begin with instruction on a particular movement which we will be using in our workout that day. We will then work out as a group and finish off with some mobility and stretching. This class may be called Lite, but it is still very challenging! CrossFit Lite will benefit everyone from the first timer to the experienced CrossFitter.
Upon choosing to take the CrossFit Lite route, you attend only the Lite classes for one month (your coach may release you from the Lite classes sooner at their discretion). Eventually, you will become very comfortable with the movements you experience in the class setting. After a month (or ten classes) of the Lite classes, you will have learned every CrossFit movement and can then begin attending regular CrossFit classes as soon and your coach feel you are ready!
CrossFit Lite is hosted at several times/days per week. We recommend that de-conditioned or inexperienced athletes in the CF Lite program start working out 2-3 days per week for the first month. Memberships, punch passes and drop-in options are available.
Step 3: Committing to Yourself
After you've been through an introductory workout, you now have a good idea if this is what you are looking for. If it is, we are here to help hold your hand as you start what will be one of the most amazing journeys of your life. We understand that starting CrossFit can be scary. Think of it this way - just stepping into the gym on the first day was a huge success and it just gets easier every time as you develop friendships in the gym and confidence in your abilities. Before you know it, you will be doing things you never could have imagined before!
Our gym is full of people just like you. They walked in on day one scared and unsure. Yet, "something" told them to come back. Those people are the ones who will put out their hand to introduce themselves to you and help you through your journey along with your knowledgeable coaches. WE ARE HERE FOR YOU. We are a community, not just a gym. Everyone knows each other and we encourage each other everyday to take on new challenges and to face obstacles.
We don't want just anyone as a member of CrossFit Purgatory. We want people who are ready to take the journey of health and wellness with us. We want people who are committed to their success. All we ask is that you commit to you. Once you make that commitment, you are welcome to start coming to our group CrossFit classes where your coach will walk you through a warm-up, the movements in the workout, the WOD (workout of the day) as well as a post-WOD mobility session. There are no special requirements to attend our open classes. They are for EVERY ability, strength, flexibility and endurance level.
If you are interested in a membership at CrossFit Purgatory, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to set up your online account. WE ARE GLAD TO HAVE YOU. Great things are ahead for you!
We welcome you to make an appointment with us so that you may come in and see firsthand who we are, and what we do!
